Nak share what should you new mommies buy. List ni I think ada juga terbeli things that we don’t actually need pun. But hopefully it helps you in any way possible <3

My favorite to-go-to shop is @Mothercare @BabyShop @ CottonOnKids @Aeon @Ikea. Ada certain time @Mothercare buat sale up to 70%, ada certain things kat @BabyShop lagi good deal. @CottonOnKids pun selalu ada buy 2 get 1 free plus design pun lawa2 <3 Ada certain things kat @Aeon and @Ikea lagi murah. Baby Needs:

  2. Mosquito Net (tak sampai hati tengok kena gigit </3)

  4. Baby Dimple Pillow (to avoid flat head syndrome) & Bolster

Baby Essentials:


Baby cepat membesar, so jangan beli baju newborn banyak sangat. Make sure it’s front button for easy changing coz baby ni dia suka gerak2 hihi.

  5. Net Sets (takut baby panas lagi2 bila balik kampung)

Baby Starter Pack
It's true what people say. Biasanya anak first memang parents yang over excited. Even baju raya pun dah siap beli. We were too excited sampai masuk JD nampak ada baju baby, yang selama ni tak pernah tahu ada baju baby kat situ. Hafiz terus rambang mata. Nampak gayanya dia lagi lemah semangat Haha but it’s a good deal anyway, dapat beanie, romper and booties.
Tips:

Bila beli pastu letak tepi je ada tendency to overbuy things sebab selalu rasa tak cukup. So prepare compartment khas for baby and susun siap2. Baru perasan terlebih beli and hopefully sempat pakai semua newborn clothes :p


Baby Diapering & Grooming:

  2. Disposable Nappy Liners (easy to dispose diaper when traveling)
  3. Minyak Yu Yi (untuk avoid masuk angin, sapu kat tapak kaki & perut)
  4. Johnson Baby Oil (for cleaning: ears, belly button, etc)
  5. Baby Brush & Comb (make sure yang soft bristles for newborn)
  6. Pigeon Baby Wash & Shampoo 2in1 (senang tak payah bawa banyak2)
  7. Baby Nail Clippers
  8. Baby Cotton Bud
  9. Baby Bath Support Mat (for sink bath)
  10. Baby Diapering Mat
  11. Baby Towel with Hood
  12. Newborn Diapers / Napkin & Napkin Liner for up to 2 months (sebab kulit baby sangat sensitive) Ni tak sure, parents cakap better pakai napkin but then cam leceh je so we bought napkin and diapers, see how it goes. We bought Drypers for Newborn sebab boleh kumpul points :p

Our sink is pretty big, so we didn’t buy baby bath tub. Lagipun lepas give birth tu luka pun belum baik, elakkan squatting :’( beli baby bath support je and mandikan kat sinki je. Just make sure no sharp edges available. Buy Nose Cleaner for flu if needed and a Digital Thermometer (important to check baby’s temperature when traveling).

Highly Recommended! Ringan sangat and ada 9 steps of suction control. So you can control the level of suction. A silent operation, boleh rechargeable and compact which is important for a working mom. Ada certain breast pump requires direct power source from plug or powerbank and some pumps make a lot of noise. So pilih yang terbaik okay :) Lacte Omnia ni comes with soft breast shield that mimics baby’s natural sucking that gives maximum comfort. For now, breast pump paling mahal is Medela but for me Lacte Omnia is good enough. Easy to assemble and dissemble for cleaning. This is the smallest Lacte breastpump. The only downside is that the suction mode cannot be adjusted for each side. Maksudnya, it operates at the same level for both suction pumps. 

Nipple Care:
  1. Earth Mama Organic Nipple Butter (massage nipples for 2 mins before feeding to soften it)
  2. Bepanthen Ointment (for diaper rash & after feeding to avoid crack nipples </3 make sure basuh dulu bfr feeding)

     6. Bottles Liquid Wash & Brush (best if brush boleh dismantle, senang nak bawa traveling)
     7. Thermos (untuk panaskan perahan susu when traveling)

We didn’t buy bottle sterilizer; basuh all plastic bottles and teats with hot water and liquid wash je. Cheap but still functional. 

Beli breast pump sets kat Fabulous Mom. Really recommended! Comes with so many free gifts worth up to RM125 and tutorial on how to use the pump. The pump is entitled for 3 years warranty. I bought it when I was 4 months pregnant but I can register after I give birth so the warranty only starts when I started to use the pump and register. Which is great! Make sure to send it for a service within that 3 years coz sometimes the tubes get blocked or the silicone needs a replacement, since it’s free anyway.

Highly recommended to use Palmers Cocoa Butter Massage Lotion as early as 7 week of pregnancy. I started to use it when I was 14 week as it was really hard to find it in store. Got mine at Watson. Lepas guna tu, rasa macam perut ringan and smaller tapi tengok cermin sama je besar dia haha. So the lotion helps to moisturize and give elasticity, hence reduces stretch marks :) But when reaching 2nd to 3rd trimester, best to use the Massage Cream that contains richer texture and deeper absorption. Started to use at week 21, masa tu perut rasa macam nak meletup, rasa penuh and susah nak nafas sikit. So after using it, it helps to reduce the tightness and gives better skin elasticity and suppleness. Got mine at www.palmers.com with good deal and so many free gifts.

At some point in the 3rd trimester, both the lotion and cream doesn’t work anymore, masa tu rasa perut ketat and keras. So as suggested by my Gynae, to use an oil-based stretch marks, so I changed to Bio-Oil. Baru rasa selesa <3 it depends on orang juga, some say Bio-Oil doesn’t work on them, but it works on me, both Palmers during early pregnancy and Bio-oil when coming towards the end of pregnancy ni hehe. Then towards the end, around 34 weeks itchiness pula appear, so I use Bio-Oil as first layer then guna Cocoa Butter as second layer. Alhamdulillah, kejap je rasa gatal2 tu, pastu dah tak gatal dah.
